Stash Stash

Everyone’s stash is so uniquely theirs and how they carry it should be too.

The Idea

Originally designed for yarn lovers, we believe everyone deserves a nice bag. Whether you’re a knitter, crocheter, weaver, cross-stitcher, sewist, or the only fiber in your life is bran and you just need something functional and cute -we’re here for you.

No matter where you live or what you do. No matter how much stuff you have to carry, you can take it with you and we’re here to enable.

Handmade to Last

Designed and constructed by our sole bagmaker, Kelsey, our bags are sewn on a machine and feature hand-cut materials with reinforced stress points for durability.

We aim to maintain a diverse range of prices, materials, and designs so you can find bags as unique as you, on any budget. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, check out our custom options.

Shopping Local & Coming Soon

Currently, you can only find our bags online or at our favorite local yarn shop (LYS), Fibre Space in Old Town Alexandria, VA!

As we continue this sewing adventure, we will create new shapes, sizes, and hope to add some custom enamel pins and stitch markers. Additionally, we are licensed to sell bags made from Klum House patterns, which joined our lineup in 2023.

Meet the maker

After a lifetime of not being able to sew a button on straight, Kelsey learned to sew in 2016. Working on her grandma’s old machine, this knitter found bag making and didn’t look back. Your own personal one woman show is the owner, designer, snarky writer, and sewist behind the bags.

Be sure to follow us @stashstash.bags and check out her Instagram @artgeekery or Ravelry page.

The shop goblin and co-author

Matt is Kelsey’s awesome husband who is a master of sawdust and dwells in their basement wood shop. This pithy craftsman is the brains behind several bag names, the occasional finder of fabrics, and our resident process engineer.

The illustrator

Vivian is one of our favorite artists and the creator of our color palette and mascot, Bruce the bag. While you haven’t met them yet, she’s also the pen behind his 15 other friends (that’s right, there are more bags a’coming) and the culprit behind some our future custom fabric prints.

It takes a village…

Stash Stash would not exist or be as much fun without Kelsey’s real and fiber families, bag testers, and customers. You are all THE best!
