Product Care

We recommend spot cleaning with a damp cloth on all bags and use caution if ironing bags with a zipper or near metal hardware.

If your bag is composed in part of oilcoth or waxed canvas, do NOT iron as it will burn the material and/or melt the wax (and possibly ruin your iron). Both of these fabrics are water resistant and patina with use.

As we phase out our fabric handles, our new vegan handles are made of polyester webbing/belting and can be washed in cold water and drip dried.

Custom Bagmaking

Can’t find what you need? Ready to have the bag of your dreams? Need something as unique as you? Let’s make it happen. Our custom option can be designed completely from scratch or as simple as you want a bag that you see in the shop, but in a different fabric or with a different handle . Cross-body Sad Sack with extra pockets, anyone?

How it works:

  • Down payment: When you purchase a custom bag, you are charged a $20 design fee, reserving your spot in our queue and kicking off the design process for your dream bag.

  • Design magic: Within a week, you will recieve an email within 5 business days asking you for information about your bag design. In this virtual conversation, we look forward to hearing about what you need the bag to hold up to or be able to carry. This helps us determine the best shape, size, features, and materials for durability and aesthetic.

  • Quote: Once the design and materials are finalized you will receive an itemized quote and timeline for the final product. When you’re ready to proceed, your custom order will be listed in the shop for you to purchase (minus the $20 design fee) and provide shipping information.

  • Nothing heard: If we do not receive a reply to our email within 60 days, your down payment will automatically be refunded minus a $5 processing fee.

Handknits

A few times a year, we are able to take on knitting commissions or sample knits. Please note we do not knit sweaters, blankets, or other large items; only hats, socks, or neck accessories (cowls, shawls, wraps, etc.) from existing patterns. Important things to know:

  • Down payment: When you purchase a handknit, you are charged $10, reserving your spot in our queue and kicking off the prep work to ensure you get the perfect knit.

    • Nothing heard: If we do not receive a reply to our email within 60 days, your down payment will automatically be refunded minus a $3 processing fee.

  • Design magic: Within a week, you will receive an email asking for additional information. We look forward to hearing about what you are looking to have made and are here to help you pick a pattern, color, fiber, etc. whether you know everything or nothing about knitting.

  • Quote: Once the design and materials are finalized you will receive an itemized quote and timeline for completion of the product. When you’re ready to proceed, a custom order will then be listed in the shop for you to pay the balance and provide shipping information.

  • Pricing: Final cost varies per project but is always determined by Materials (pattern price, yarn, etc.) + Labor ($0.15/yard.) - $10 down payment.

    • Please note: we abide by copyright laws to properly protect and compensate designers for their work. Additionally, charging by the yard instead of by the hour allows the final labor cost to be determined by project size and yarn weight.

All finished handknits come with an instructional care card and optional fabric label or giftwrapping. Please email us if you have additional questions, or go order a handknit, here.

Shipping Info

Most items are ready to ship and will be processed within 10 business days. Made to order or pre-order items will be sewn and shipped in 2-4 weeks, unless otherwise indicated in the product description (i.e. a 4-6 week pre order likely will have a ship date listed). We love happy mail too and will ship your order(s) out faster than estimated if our sewing schedule allows.

All items are shipped via the United States Postal Services (USPS) Priority Mail. You will receive an email with tracking information as soon as your order ships.

Depending on the laws and regulations of your country, additional customs fees or taxes may be required to receive your package and delays are possible.

Stash Stash always declares the full value of your order so that it can be refunded in case of loss or damage. In the rare event of a lost or damaged package, we are unfortunately unable to provide extensive assistance and recommend you contact your local post office immediately.

Return Policy

Stash Stash offers a full refund within 30 days on any full-priced bag or accessory in original condition. Notions must be in original packaging and stained or damaged items may not be returned. There are no returns on discounted items. We do our best to take accurate photographs of our products, but image color may vary slightly from screen to screen. 

If you are dissatisfied with your purchase or have any issues or concerns with your order, please send an kelsey@stashstashbags.com within 7 days of receipt. There is almost always a solution, but as a mostly one-woman operation, your patience is appreciated.
