Yarncentrick with Cesium Yarn

We are so excited that our new Science Is Real collection will be launching with one of our favorite local (Virginia) dyers, Cesium Yarn! We will pop in for a bit in the early afternoon, but this is really a chance for you to get to know their yarn. Trust us, you’ll never be the same. Not color confident? Cat and Penny are there to help you find your fade, come across a contrast, or discover something new.

When: 10am - 5pm on Friday, May 2nd. Tickets are for 2-hours at the indoor and outdoor vendors. (and there’s ample free parking!)

Where: The Arc at Market Street, a hop skip and a jump away from the shops and delicious restaurants of historic Frederick, MD. We recommend Tsunami, Isabella’s, or Agave for lunch.

Why: Because you deserve 2 hours for yourself, beautiful fibers, and a bag to carry it all home in.

Cesium Yarn

Hand-dyed yarn made with love and science

Where to even begin with the fiber magic that Cat and Penny create? And what is magic really, other than science that we don’t understand yet? Of course we’re paraphrasing Arthur C Clarke there, but truly, their colors are stunning and their ethics and sustainability efforts are delightful in today’s climate. Learn more about their work and their adorable fur babies by visiting their website or following them on social media. We can personally vouch for their sock base, the colors really do glow, dk, and their fiber.

In the meantime, we are ecstatic to launch our first science collection with them, aboard their yarn truck, Ellie, in the outside area of Yarncentrick. Can’t make it? No worries, we hope to continue supplying them with atomic, quality bags in the future. Be sure to check out their events page to see when they’re coming to a town near you, or put your order in online.

Public Knitoxication with Cesium Yarn

Come sip and stitch with us at Fabbioli Cellars! We’ll be celebrating knitting in public at the Cesium Yarn truck, with Cat and Penny. This is a free event is organized by The Fiberists!

We will have more Science is Real collection bags, as well as wine bags and an array of summer prints as we head into the sunshine season. This is also a chance for you to get to know Cesium if you haven’t tried their amazing yarns yet. Trust us, you’ll never be the same!

When: 10am - 5pm on Saturday, June 14th aka Worldwide Knit in Public Day.

Where: Fabbiloi Cellars, 15669 Limestone School Road, Leesburg, Virginia. The event is in the "speakeasy," left of the tasting room and below the farmhouse. There is parking available onsite and we recommend carpooling with your favorite designated driver (be they a friend or ride service). Please drink (and knit) responsibly. Must be 21 or older to sit at the tasting counter.

Why: Because good wine, food, and fiber are the perfect way to celebrate crafting in public. Please remember, only you can prevent tipsy stitches and next day tinking.

Purveyor of crafting tools, textiles, and more.

Rochelle (she/her) is the magical maker behind Sassafras Knits. Since 2020, she has been working towards providing beautiful & functional products to enhance and inspire your creativity from Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Our take? She’s one of the kindest humans we’ve ever met and we own a large number of her stunning stitch markers, progress keepers, and jewelry. Her values and background in environmental science enable her to be eco conscience and have an encyclopedic knowledge of flora and fauna. For this event, she’s got a lovely witchy collection and we’re honored to have made some bags to stock in her booth. Be sure to come say hi and shop if you’re in the area!
